Are there General Rules for entering Functional Situations?
Last Updated 4 years ago

A - Yes, some of these are as follows:
  • You must enter the appropriate Change Reason as this field sets the Employment Status field
  • Entry is not allowed to the Value to date field as it is derived from the entered Scale Point.
  • When selecting a Scale Point, please ensure that the selected Scale point is related to the specific Financial year for which the Functional Situation is being created
  • If there is a change in the Category field, please ensure that the “Start” date is changed to reflect the effective date of the change
  • If there is a change in the Subcategory field, please ensure that the “Start” date is changed to reflect the effective date of the change
  • If there is a change in the Scale Point field, please ensure that the “Start” date is changed to reflect the effective date of the change
  • The Manual Salary field should only be entered if it is necessary to assign a specific salary to an employee outside of the Pay scale amount. The Manual Salary will override the information displayed in the “Value to Date” field.
  • Always ensure that the Paycycle selected is the one in which payment is to be made
